To produce a song by using one’s vocal chords to create a broad range of melodic harmonies and configuring one’s mouth to replicate the sounds of instruments cannot be an easy feat. Yet many an a cappella group makes it seem so effortless and at times even better sounding than the original songs themselves!

Closer to home in Singapore this October is the International A Cappella Festival 2014! With over 100 local and international a cappella singers in 10 concerts in a variety of genres including rock, jazz, canto pop, mando pop, pop, fusion, and more, this festival will be a crowd-pleaser with something for everyone.
The Voco Novo A Cappella Group hailing from Taiwan will make its debut appearance in Singapore at the festival. Formed in 2009 and experienced in the art of a cappella singing, Voco Novo (which literally translates to “New Voices”) continues to push the creative boundaries in music to create new sounds and techniques, and have since experimented with theatre and musicals.
A household name in Taiwan, they’ve also ventured and performed abroad in Korea, Hong Kong, China, Austria, Germany, and Sweden! This time, we’ll get to catch this well-travelled band of a cappella singers right here in Singapore.

This contest closes at 1pm Thursday, October 9 2014. Two winners will be randomly selected by Peatix Inc. to win the stated prizes from all eligible entries received. Peatix Inc.’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained. Each prize includes 1 pair of tickets to Voco Novo – International A Cappella Festival 2014 happening 20 October, 730pm. Winners will be notified by Peatix Asia Pte. Ltd. via Facebook and e-mail on Thursday, October 9 2014 with instructions on how to redeem their prize. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
