More about Rakugo
Rakugo, as performed by the seasoned Shinoharu Tatekawa, is a traditional Japanese sit-down comedy with as much laughter appeal as local stand-up comedian, Fakkah Fuzz. Despite dating back to the late 18th century, the comedic stories knows no bounds in inciting peals of laughter amongst an international audience in this day and age.
Shinoharu himself was so spell-bound by this art form the first time he watched it that he took off from his corporate job to pursue performing Rakugo!
Donning a kimono with a paper fan and a tiny handkerchief, Shinoharu entertains through animated story telling not simply as a narrator but through acting out the roles of each character with vivid expressions, all whilst kneeling on the stage. The characters can be diverse, ranging from being a zookeeper, a samurai, a teenager, and even a lion. Are you curious as to how he pulls this off? Peatix Inc.’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained. Each prize includes 1 pair of tickets to the performance “Shinoharu Rakugo: 5th Singapore Solo Tour 2015”. Winners will be notified by Peatix Asia Pte. Ltd. via Facebook and e-mail on Friday, Jan 9 2015 with instructions on how to redeem their prize. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
