This March, Peatix dives into the International Women’s Day theme of ‘Inspiring Inclusion’ by spotlighting communities in Japan and Singapore who through their work and mission, have been championing the inclusion of Women and lowering barriers to support resources.
In our first interview of the series, we speak with Elika, a Certified Nutritionist, and Energy Optimisation Coach based in Singapore about the Infradian Rhythm of Women and how understanding the cycle empowers women to better optimise their energy through the month.
Q: Hi Elika, can you tell us a bit more about what you do?
Hey guys, I’m Elika, Founder of The Health Concierge’, which is a lifestyle and coaching programme aimed at helping purpose-driven business leaders and entrepreneurs optimise their energy.
I do this through an ‘Energy Audit’, where I work with people to study aspects of their lives where they may be leaking energy. The audit aims to fix these gaps so people can achieve better harmony in their personal and professional lives.
The Health Concierge also provides access to science-backed resources and materials and a community that helps them with maintaining realistic and sustainable healthy lifestyle habits.
Q: Can you share why women need to understand their Infradian Rhythm?
This is extremely important because a woman’s brain chemistry is 25% different in the space of 28 days, whereas men go through a 24-hour biological cycle called the circadian rhythm. Through my programme, I help women understand why their energy fluctuates and guide them on what’s needed so they can work more in sync with how they’re designed biologically.
Q: Why are conversations like these necessary?
In some cultures, women may not feel comfortable talking about what is happening within their bodies and hence, they may not always be led to the information and resources needed to prepare themselves for the changes. There may be differences across cultures but what’s similar is the biological make up of a woman’s body. I hope that by creating more dialogue and awareness surrounding what is often considered a private or taboo subject, we learn that we are often more similar than different.
Q: What is the Feminine Flow Masterclass about and what can women expect to take away from it?
The workshop aims to help women who have been feeling worn out and tired take actionable steps that help with optimizing their energy levels immediately. The masterclass will be a safe space where they can ask questions and receive guidance on nutrition and movement, so they can work in harmony with their energy through the month, and not against it.
