We support and showcase emerging Asian talents on a global scale, with a broad focus on fashion designers from the Asia Pacific. ERIIN incorporates curated products with elements of both luxury and street to create our own unique and eclectic character.

We were psyched when the Peatix team approached us to write a blog entry for the site in exchange for an all access pass to a day at Digital Fashion Week (DFW), held at the National Design Center located right smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Singapore. Our day included four shows in total, starting with the much anticipated Topshop Season’s Runway Edit, followed by local designers Max Tan, Thomas Wee & Pauline Ning.

Topshop, one of our favorite British high street retailers, started our Saturday evening with a bang. With the front row filled with a horde of stylish ladies, we were pretty excited to see what the giant retailer was offering up this Autumn/Winter. Starting it right with a high energy tune, the opening look sold us immediately – plaid pants, a bowler hat and ankle boots was a definite spot on. The entire show was filled with rocking coats, plenty of glitter, dark greens, chiffon, lace, silvers, sheer organzas and pink PVCs. Our favorite looks were anything in pale pink, which gave off a girly demure vibe when paired with nude pumps. Stellar!

Up next, we were presented a minimal story by Max Tan, with shades of white, grey and black in pleats, folds and drapes. The oversized hats reminded us of Acne Resort 2011, since we were dying to get our hands on those head-toppers back then, but in a good way of course. We were sold on a pleated tent shirt dress in black, as well as as slashed sleeve jacket, both of which we decided Brit “It” girl Alexa Chung would have very much liked to have in her wardrobe. We have to add though, that we thoroughly enjoyed the groove that Max Tan provided through his presentation.

With that, one of the fashion pack’s top favorites, Thomas Wee, started his SS14 presentation. The collection burst into the room with a suit of scarlet brocade paired with the reddest of lips. This color palette continued, with voluminous shapes and plenty of cropped tops. It was an artful show, moving on to the most pristines of white, followed by a rose print of red and white. Our favorite showing of the evening, we gratuitously crown the scarlet brocade a must-have print for the season. Thomas Wee’s looks were spot-on and so in season, with the volumes and pleating reminding us of Del Pozo SS13, our crowned “It” show of the season.

Lastly, we were treated to a structured play on blacks, whites, oxblood and deep greens. Pauline Ning, a designer we have kept our eyes on since her start, was spot on in her color palettes. We loved the surprising cuts and drapes of her pieces, and how those black wide-legged pants flowed as they came down the runway. Our favorite look was the low-back maxi dress, a piece we imagine any woman would be happy to have in her wardrobe as a not-so-little black dress.

By the end of the shows, we were pretty much bushed, but inspired by the art we’d witnessed first hand as they came strutting down the runway. The crowd was buzzed and energetic, and you could feel the love the audience had for both fashion and style. It had been a fulfilling day for us, and since it had been a while since our last fashion attendance, we were also pretty happy to head home for some much needed rest.

Thanks again Peatix team for the opportunity to attend the shows, we really appreciate the gesture!

Guest post from the seasoned fashionistas at Eriin.com

For more behind the scenes sneak peaks into Digital Fashion Week 2013, click here!

Related post: Digital Fashion Week 2013 Day 4: Al & Alica S/S 2014

Hello from ERIIN.com – ERIIN is an online retailer that is Asian at heart and international in mindset.
