And me? Why, I open up a fresh new browser window, navigate straight to Meetup.com and begin decompressing with the aid of the towering monuments to awkwardness that are the pictures from the previous night\u2019s meetups.<\/p>\n<p>These pictures are proof that God loves us and ostensibly\u2014because the pictures are public\u2014wants us to be less awkward. There\u2019s no evidence we\u2019ve taken this to heart however, and the disparity between a \u201cgreatest picture ever\u201d and the objective awkward reality lengthens still. Let me show you what I mean:<\/p>\n<h4>1. Allawkward.com\/okthatonegirlhasapassablesmile<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/all_awkward.jpeg\" alt=\"All awkward\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nAwkwardness abounds in this picture, with the front two speaking for themselves and the woman in the middleground seemingly telling the man that today is not his lucky day, while another woman is grotesquely conjoined to the back of her head, which draws a look of disgusted shock from the bang-riddled woman on the right.<\/p>\n<h4>2. You know what they say about giant phones on giant phone holsters\u2026<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/giant_phone.jpeg\" alt=\"Giant phone\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nThis actually isn\u2019t that awkward if you know the context. This is the meetup for NYC Sexual Abstainers Ages 35-50.<\/p>\n<h4>3. The death of a star<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/serious_flash.jpeg\" alt=\"Extreme flash\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\n\u201cIf the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst forth at once in the sky, that would be like the splendour of that one Meetup picture.\u201d\u2014Bhagavad Gita<\/p>\n<h4>4. Swing Dancing: The Great Equalizer<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/mismatched_dancers.jpeg\" alt=\"Mismatched dancers\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nOne thing everyone must know about swing dancing: it is not for everyone. The above photo has captured the exact moment this woman has figured that out.<\/p>\n<h4>5. Not sure if joke appropriate\u2026<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/Caged_children.jpeg\" alt=\"Caged children\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nBut the fact that this cage is made up of lots of little stars of David is somehow really dark.<\/p>\n<h4>6. The meetup for Lopsided Heads, Weak Necks and the Otherwise Permanently Slanted<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/lopsided_heads.jpeg\" alt=\"lopsided heads\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><br \/>\nI\u2019m glad they found each other.<\/p>\n<h4>7. And they really open up after a few drinks, though pretty much always vomit all over everything.<\/p>\n<h4>8. I don\u2019t know<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.peatix.com\/images\/blog\/missed_nostril_and_wrestling_belt.jpeg\" alt=\"Belt and nostril\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><br \/>\nSeriously have no idea what\u2019s going on but it is very very awkward.<\/p>\n<h4>9.
