On the blazing heels of “Crazy Rich Asians” fame is Singapore’s favourite thespian, Tan Kheng Hua, bringing her magical touch to “Modest Travels” – a travel-themed theatre play, presented by Uniqlo, running 21 and 22 September in the charming alcoves of 18/20 Temenggong.
Co-produced by Tan Kheng Hua & written by Euginia Tan, viewers will be enthralled by a theatrical experience that is set in an iconic colonial bungalow before being transported into the worlds of four Singaporean travellers whose stories will be played through different rooms, unveiling tales of exploration with journeys spanning across Morocco, Uzbekistan, India and Europe.
These adaptations, featuring stories of diversity, honesty and friendship through travel, were inspired by real-life events submitted by Uniqlo fans and the production aims to bring its viewers on an up close and personal journey alongside the cast, re-enacted by familiar names in the Arts scene, such as Inch Chua, Zee Wong, Timothy Wan, Sangeetha Dorai, Irfan Kasban and Ali Khan.
“Modest Travels” marks Uniqlo’s first foray into theatre, and is set to inspire a wave of wanderlust. But fret not though, these guys have got you covered (quite literally and you’ll see what we mean), where attendees can redeem for Uniqlo products with the cost of the tickets ($30) after the event, so there’s one less thing to worry about when it comes to worrying about travel wear. Tickets are selling out fast, so get in on the ride and pick up your passport to a great time here quick.
