And so, as TechCrunch says we just announced our Series B funding (I’m about to get an earful from our PR manager for all the things I said in there). Five million dollars is a lot of money. We’re going to be investing this money in areas that matter the most: mobile, event discovery, sponsorship programs, etc. We’re going to think hard about what matters the most to event organizers and attendees, and make their lives better.
With every funding round we receive many congratulations from our friends and colleagues. No doubt that that funding is important as it means that we can continue with our mission, but at the same time, we don’t want this to become about us. We try to stay away from the spotlight as much as possible, because this should be all about our customers: the event organizers providing meaningful experiences for people, and those who are a part of those communities. Every time we hear about a niche community growing (flying cats, anyone?), or a couple who met at an event and eventually got married, it makes us want to work harder. This is what makes us want to go to work every morning.
