Dearest Customers of Peatix,
And so, 2022 was a doozy, wasn’t it? Wars, climate change, the pandemic still lingering, Zoom fatigue, deepening divisions across political, religious and many socio-economic lines make you think that the world is heading in the wrong direction.
But here at Peatix, we see the world differently. For the past twelve years, we’ve seen a vast number of communities congregate around common ideas, emotions and interests, some in earnest and seriousness but many others in wacky, unique ways that we’ve never seen before. Everyday is a set of new discoveries for us, and we can’t help but be grateful to contribute, in our own small way, to the forging of human bonds that make this world just a little better. If the world at large is talking about divisions, we at Peatix see connections that are increasing each and every day.
This year, we’re going to take multiple steps forward in our mission of community empowerment. If Peatix for the last twelve years was mainly about events, we’re adding a new focus on the communities that utilize events, and help them become even richer and more meaningful. After all, events are but one form of communities congregating. There are many more interactions and communicative activities that take place outside of events, and we want to help enhance them with new features that will hopefully formulate a new, improved Peatix 2.0. In due course we will be announcing and shipping these planned feature sets, but we’re very excited to work on them, and we look forward to your feedback on how we can be even more helpful.
Unbeknownst to most of you, we are now a much bigger team with close to a hundred members dedicated to the mission of community empowerment. I’m very proud of the folks (we call ourselves “Peaps”) that we have onboard this ship, and I have the full conviction that each and every Peap will work hard toward serving your communities and enhancing human connection. The phrase “make the world a better place” is now a cliche and is often ridiculed, but honestly, we at Peatix still believe in it, and we have the wrinkles and scars to show our pursuit of it. But these are our badges of honor, and we’ll continue to forge on in 2023 down this road.
We thank you as always for your patronage, and here’s to what’s hopefully a glorious and beautiful 2023!
