In conjunction with our 11th anniversary, we would like to turn the spotlight on our organizers and the incredible experiences they create, both online and offline.
Here is our little interview with WORQ, a co-working space connecting like-minded entrepreneurs in the spirit of productivity:
- Tell us about WORQ Community
WORQ is a community-centric co-working space, offering an utmost productive and pleasant environment to work in! We help provide businesses with a community to belong to; to share resources, help each other out and make worthy business & personal connections!
- What inspired you to start WORQ Community and what motivates you to keep running it?
Our co-founder & CEO, Stephanie Ping experienced the benefits of working in a community workstyle back in her university days in the US. She has also witnessed the power of leveraging the community through her father’s entrepreneurial journey. Hence our co-founders decided to establish WORQ and geared it to be a hyper-localized community creation business. Stephanie sincerely believes that people can prosper by working together and this motivates her and the team to build a supportive community within an energetic workspace to help businesses in Malaysia to grow and thrive.
- Do you remember the first event you created? What was one memorable moment from running it?
Our first event created on Peatix platform is a hackathon event which we ran with the 500 Durians on web optimisation. It was called Hackathons: The 500 Durians 1 Day Web Optimization.
- One piece of advice you’d offer to new event organizers who are eager but a little nervous about running an online/offline event.
To eliminate the nervousness, it helps to have a checklist so that you don’t miss out any details. Once you have the checklist and plan in place, even if there’s any hiccups, everything will be alright. Have faith in yourself and your teammates.
- How has Peatix benefited you the most in your event and/or community management process ?
Peatix makes it easy to organise events to bring like-minded people together to connect and collaborate. We like the feature that automatically notified followers of new events, this helps us to build a list of returning event attendees. The messaging and email feature are also helpful when it comes to reaching out to our events’ registered participants.
