Peatix Malaysia officially launched our local team with a party in the up and coming Sentul East district of Kuala Lumpur!
Invited guests streamed in to pack out Impact Hub’s events space, and were first to check-in in Malaysia using ColorSync, Peatix’s new check-in technology.
With drinks in hand and a mixture of folks from different communities, the room was abuzz with conversation.
Naofumi Iwai, the Chief Operations Officer at Peatix, took to the front to share his excitement of us being able to support events in Malaysia from the ground-up right down to going the extra mile in integrating a local ringgit payment option.
Emi Takemura, Peatix’s Head of Asia, who spearheaded our next adventure into Malaysia enthused of the many inspiring locals she’s met so far and partnerships we’ve established with Impact Hub KL, VLT Labs, and MaGIC – communities where social enterprises and startups thrive.
Daniel Cerventus, the organiser of TEDxKL, gave a spiel on his happy experience working with Peatix for the upcoming TEDx event in August. (We hear tickets to TEDxKL are running out fast – get them whilst you still can!)
At the crux of the speeches, the crowd got a gist of why we’re in Malaysia and how we plan to support their efforts to host events and grow their communities.
We had one more surprise to spring for the night… Behind the panels unveiled Paperplane Pursuit, one of Malaysia’s emerging pop bands, at the ready to give us a smooth rendition of “Feel Good” and “Beat of Your Love”. We sure felt both at the end of their suave performance.
Everyone continued to mingle well into the night…
The sense of creativity and passion has certainly left the Peatix team energised in anticipation of being able to experience Malaysia’s vibrant events scene first-hand.
